At the beginning of 2018, my husband and I went shopping for a new house. One of the requirements was a dedicated studio space large enough to teach classes that was easily accessible. We found a beautiful house in Athabasca, Alberta that suited our needs. It is a large house on a hill that has a walk out basement with a side entrance at ground level leading to a large studio. There is plenty of parking. Although in town it backs onto a wooded area that makes it feel like it is in the country.
The studio has an airy well-lit classroom that can hold up to 10 people. There are many displays by my Karied Away Stamping Team as well as myself showing the range of ideas Stampin’ Up! lends itself to. There is a larger open area that can be used for weekend crafting retreats, events like our catalog launch, or a larger classroom. My local team members all use the classroom to develop their skills or teach others. There is a beverage area that provides a variety of teas and coffee for the thirsty crafter. The studio comes alive with laughter and happy voices of people enjoying creating.
